Branding, logo, album cover, and merchandise designs for the band Khruangbin’s album release “Mordachai”.
Khruangbin is a genre-bending trio from Houston, Texas that take global music influences, such as classic soul, dub, rock and psychedelia. I wanted to work in these vibes of psych-rock by creating a jaunty, uneven, and unique custom “K” for their logo; each negative space representing the three band mates.
The visuals for the album also draw on black and white imagery, classic western imagery married with clean, crisp, elements as a call to their love of blending genres and their ties to their home state as well as their often outer space themed sets and sounds.
